Baloch scholar and founder of Association of the Colored People of the World Khan Muhammad Hussain Khan has urged the government and people of Punjab to generously help their brethren in Balochistan who were facing very hard time due to rains, floods and cyclone.
Talking to PPI here, he said that in Balochistan it was general perception that Punjab was only interested in the natural resources of Balochistan and real estate in Gawadar. He said that recent rains and cyclone had provided Punjab with an opportunity to end this misperception, by extending generous help to rain-hit Balochistan and its people.
He said that people of Balochistan were also Pakistanis and they badly needed help in these trying times. He said that if the government and people of Punjab seized this opportunity and provided timely assistance to Balochistan it would also help promoting national unity, brotherhood and inter-provincial harmony.
Khan said that people of Balochistan presently needed food, medicine, tents, transport and construction material for quick relief activities, besides machinery, material, manpower, money and technical assistance for large-scale repair and re-construction activities to revive rain-battered infrastructure. He hoped that people of all provinces, especially of Punjab would realise their national responsibility and help their Balochi brethren on emergency basis.
