The lawyers' ongoing token hunger strike on Saturday completed 102 days, as they continued their one-hour boycott of the court proceedings and token hunger strike to record their protest against the presidential reference against the Chief Justice of Pakistan.
The lawyers staged hunger strike in District Bar and the Multan High Court Bar Association premises besides wearing black armbands and hoisting black flags on the bar buildings. Workers of various non-governmental organisations also sat at the camps.
The lawyers demanded the release of Dr A.Q. Khan, who had been placed under house arrest for the last 1,229 days. They also shouted slogans for the return of former prime ministers Benazir Bhutto and Mian Nawaz Sharif.
