Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh said on Thursday that Pak-India dialogue process had slowed down because of the "situation" in Pakistan. "The dialogue has slowed down, not because of us, but because of the situation in Pakistan," he told a group of women journalists.
When referred to the Lal Masjid situation, he said "fundamentalism is dangerous to any society." Describing terrorism as a "curse," the Prime Minister said "terrorism is a common enemy. It is a menace." "We are dealing with it. It is a difficult situation. I understand what is happening," he said. He recalled his meetings with President Pervez Musharraf and said they had talked about common agenda, about making borders irrelevant and promoting trade "and we have come to a broad understanding."
