Voters lists

Going through Ms Kamila Hyat's piece on voters list one was surprised to see that she has mentioned that only new ID cards were mandatory for registration. Contrary to this was the announcement (regarding use of old ID cards) made by the Chief Election Commissioner before the registration kicked off.
I wonder why our columnists are losing grip on the issue. It is because of lack of reading habit and keeping a follow up of the news. The nation on the whole is caught in this dilemma of shooting the sweeping statements without even thinking of repercussions.
