Oil and Gas Regularity Authority (Ogra) has raised the prices of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs 2,409 per tonne in the wake of rising international prices, dealers said. It may be recalled that the LPG prices have been raised by 36 dollars per tonne during the last one month in the international market, as it has been raised from 570 dollars per tonne to 606 dollars per tonne in the world market.
After the upsurge of Rs 2,409 per tonne by the Ogra, the LPG price has reached Rs 42,264 per tonne as compared to Rs 39,855 per tonne previously available in the local market. "The prices has been announced by Ogra and still local producers not has increased LGP prices in retail market," said Hadi Khan of LPG Distributors Association.
He said that the rupees two per kilogram increase would affect the retail price, which would be Rs 44 per kilogram. "We are not expecting any rise on retail stage as besides high competition in the local market, the prices are already on higher side," he added.
