'Punjab University sports department should start programmes for university students like summer camp in the vacations to provide relief after the whole year's study and for their physical fitness and growth'.
Vice-Chancellor Punjab University Prof Dr Muhammad Arif Butt averred this during a special meeting with directors of sports, Chairman department of Physical Education and Sports Sciences and Director Sport (Men) Dr Muhammad Asghar Javed, Director Sports (women) and others here on Sunday. Director of sports (Men) briefed the Acting VC about the performance of their departments and said that sports department with limited funds had shown excellent performance in different sports.
The Director told that Punjab University was ahead in the Field of sports along with academic development. 'University has the most titles of sports being played at Higher Education Commission and university levels. The university had taken many steps to provide better facilities to students for the development of sports and it had started construction of Several sports complex, gymnasium, and track for women', he pointed.
