The condition of your nails can sometimes reflect a problem in your overall health. Deputy Chief Pharmacist, Jinnah Hospital, Ms.Uzma Yousaf quoting the American Academy of Dermatology told APP here on June 24 that most of the time.
Nail problems can be traced to environmental factors for example exposure to harsh cleaning chemicals, use of drying nail products or typing or excessive use of fingertips.
SHE SAID FOLLOWING ARE THE EXAMPLES WHICH REFLECT THE SINGS OF HEALTH PROBLEMS:
-- White nails reflect liver condition
-- Half pink/half while reflect kidney disease
-- Yellowing of nails reflects lung disease
-- Thickening of nails reflects lung disease
-- Slow growth rate reflects lung disease
-- Pale nail beds reflects anaemia
-- Yellow-tinged nails with a slight blush at the base reflect diabetes.
