Singapore share prices are expected to consolidate next week as the market awaits corporate earnings reports, dealers said. The benchmark index ended the week higher after four straight days of losses.
"Within the next two weeks, before earnings reporting season starts in mid-July, the market is still expected to consolidate and trade within a range of 3,500 and 3,600," said a local brokerage dealer who declined to be named.
For the week to June 29 the Straits Times Index closed at 3,548.20, down 67.18 points or 1.86 percent from the previous week.
Average volume traded reached 4.05 billion shares worth 2.77 billion dollars (1.81 billion US) compared with 4.47 billion shares worth 2.72 billion dollars the previous week.
