Chairman Senate Mohammadmian Soomro and Acting Chairman Jan Muhammad Khan Jamali on Saturday expressed deep grief over the loss of life and damage to property caused by heavy rains and devastating floods in Sindh and Balochistan provinces. They expressed their sympathies with the victims of the tragedy and prayed to Allah Almighty to mitigate their sufferings.
They have called upon the affected people not to be demoralised by this calamity saying that they should stand united in this hour of trial and tribulation, said a press release here. They hoped that the people will demonstrate the same spin of sharing and caring as they have demonstrated during the devastating earthquake of October 8, 2005.
Mohammadmian Soomro directed the authorities concerned as well as the relief agencies to reach out to the victims speedily and to provide much needed relief to the affected people as early as possible.
