Punjab Minister for Livestock and Dairy Development, Syed Haroon Ahmad Sultan has said that the government would provide 660 milk cooling tanks having capacity of 1000 liters each through out the province.
Talking to a delegation of livestock farmers, he said that under Punjab Dairy Development programme, one milk-cooling tank would be provided to a unit of three to five villages in order to ensure proper payment of milk production. He said that under first phase, one thousand villages had been selected. He said that livestock farmers, their association, dairy association and community organisations could avail this facility and added that these milk cooling tanks would be given on 'no profit no loss' basis.
Meanwhile, Punjab Minister for Co-operatives Colonel Malik Muhammad Anwar (Retd) said that the provincial co-operative banks along with other banks were issuing loans for the promotion of livestock in order to meet the demand of meet and milk.
He said that price committees were also being made effective in order to ensure provision of daily use commodities to the masses on cheaper rates.
