Rainwater coming from Balochistan has inundated many areas of Sukkur and Larkana districts, leaving hundreds of people marooned. Local reports said the hill torrents broke the FP Protective Bund and inundated villages in Kubo Saeed Khan, Jhal Magsi, Kot Magsi, Zafarabad and Lal Khan Magsi.
The people have taken shelter on the rooftops of schools and hospitals and facing shortage of essential items. The people complained that the local elected representatives of Qambar-Shahdadkot have taken an initiative to evacuate marooned people.
However, District Co-ordination Officer (DCO) Mukhtiar Hussain Soomro, District Police Officer (DPO) Rana Sanaullah has set up emergency camps with the help of irrigation authorities and began evacuating marooned people to safer places, besides providing them food and medical facilities.
