The Minister for Women Development and Youth Affairs Sumaira Malik has said that national policy on home-based workers must be formulated according to the international policy pattern and draft law will be prepared to be placed before the National Assembly for approval.
"The problems of home based workers need to be addressed and the ministry has called home-based workers from all over the country for consulting them to make amendments in the working terms and conditions of home-based women workers", she said while inaugurating a two-day 'National Consultation on the Status of Women Home Based Workers' here on Monday organised by the Ministry of Women Development in collaboration with Unifem, Homenet and Sungi.
She said that 50 percent of country's population is women and the government has to work hard for providing them equal opportunities in the society. Sumaira assured socio-economic uplift of women and assured of bringing revolution in the lives of home-based women workers' job environment through national policy.
