Armed clashes between two rival groups left eight persons dead and seven other injured in the remotest areas of Tirah valley in Khyber Agency on Saturday.
According to reports reaching here the clashes erupted in Sanda Pal area of Tirah valley in Khyber Agency when Mangal Bagh group captured two important trenches of Mehboobul Haq group with the help of hundreds of his supporters.
However, the supporters of Mehboobul Haq group armed with heavy weapons retaliated and opened indiscriminate firing at the Mangal Bagh group people.
The exchange of firing is continuing till the filing of this report, which was confirmed by the political authority of Khyber Agency. Since the area is the remotest part of the agency therefore exact number of casualties could not be ascertained. However according to unconfirmed reports eight persons, five belonging to Mangal Bagh and three to Mehbooul Haq group have been killed so far while another seven belonging to both the groups have sustained injuries.
