The Karachi Port handled 106,622 tonnes cargo including 81,365 tonnes import, 25,257 tonnes export cargo and 3,156 containers (TEUs) during last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The cargo comprised of 63,722 tonnes dry cargo including 44,576 tonnes general cargo; 2,811 tonnes fertiliser; 10,900 tonnes coal; 5,435 tonnes cement; and 42,900 tonnes oil/liquid cargo. Four ships namely Harmony, Conti Germany, M.T. Johar and Dream Beauty sailed out to sea during the report period.
Four vessels viz Jon Jin 2, Bright Ocean-2, Viscoya and Four Bay are currently at the berths. Five ships namely Hyundai Advance, Y M Energy, Al-Jaber 18, Bright Ocean-2 and Sp 5-Eric G Gibson expected to sail on Friday, while three vessels viz Four Bay, Effy N and Hartati expected to sail on Saturday.
Two vessels viz Iran Tabatabaei and Mol Asante due to arrive on Friday, while nine ships namely Chemstar Brave, Prem Pride, CMA CGM Gardenia, Oel Trust, Wan Hai-301, Jitra Bhum, Chettinad Tradition, Hanjin Istanbul and Lucky Arrow are due to arrive on Saturday.
The cargo comprised of 30,975 tonnes furnace oil; 10,867 tonnes edible oil; 2,238 tonnes cement and 13,311 tonnes containerised cargo. Two ships namely M.V. Captain George-L and M.V. Saudi Hofuf sailed out to sea during last 24 hours. Two vessels viz C.V. London Senator and M.T. Doris expected to sail on Friday.
A total of four ships namely CSAV Ningbo, Sima Pars, Norfolk Express and Keefan carrying containers and diesel oil are currently at the outer anchorage.
Five vessels viz C.V. Saudi Hofuf, C.V. London Senator, M.V. Al-Mansourah, M.T. Doris and M.T. Grigoroussa-I are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, edible oil and furnace oil respectively during the report period. Two ships namely C.V. CSAV Ningbo and C.V. Sima Pars due to take berths at Container Terminal on Friday.
