Minister of State for Education Anisa Zeb Tahirkheli said Thursday the government was committed to resolving issues being faced by teachers. She was addressing certificate-awarding ceremony of annual national primary teachers conference, organised by Ministry of Education, here, at National Library.
She said the teachers played pivotal role in national development by equipping citizens with education and the government was alive to the fact that without resolving their issues equality education could not be ensured in the country.
She said that more resources were being invested to ameliorate condition of teachers and the issue of annual increments would be resolved soon. She said the provinces should also take steps for improving status of teachers, which would help ensure quality. The minister emphasised the need for building capacity of all officials of education sector to effectively utilise the resources meant for the improvement of education.
She assured that their recommendations and suggestions would be incorporated in decision-making process to further improve standard of education. Representatives of teachers said that the government should do more for improving status of teachers, especially through financial incentives.
They also suggested that their representation should be included while making decisions for education improvement. Later, the participants were given certificates for participating in the conference.
