An extensive tree-plantation campaign across Azad Jammu Kashmir will be launched as soon as the coming monsoon started and at least five million saplings are targeted to be planted on over 14,000 acres of land during the drive.
Official sources told APP here on Wednesday that the AJK forest department was making sufficient arrangements for the disbursement of the saplings among the farmers besides the general public for plantation during the upcoming monsoon tree-plantation campaign throughout Azad Jammu and Kashmir.
The saplings will be available free-of-cost at the stipulated points including the nurseries of the forest department at various locations in all eight districts of AJK. Nurseries will be set up by the forest department in all three districts of Mirpur division including Mirpur, Kotli and Bhimbher to disperse the plants of various required natures among the aspirants.
