Punjab Minister for Information Technology, Abdul Aleem Khan has donated Rs 3.4 million for the renovation of a local government Chughtai Girls High School whose up gradation has been approved at a cost of Rs 12.5 million.
The school has been upgraded to Intermediate-level and the project also includes the construction of new blocks, repair and beautification of the existing structure. New design for the educational blocks has been completed while all the initial steps have been taken to start construction on the project.
Minister I T Abdul Aleem Khan said that development in the education sector was the top most priority of the present government and heavy funds had been allocated in the budget. He opined that girls should be provided educational facilities on priority basis and reconstruction of this school would play an important role to provide them more sophisticated facilities in the area.
He said that apart from this, Rs 150 million have also been sanctioned for the developmental work of Govt Junior Model School Mughalpura in Dars Barey Mian area. He said that completion of these projects would meet the long-standing demand of the masses in PP-147, where the work would be completed in the shortest possible time.
