The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has issued new standard duty drawback notifications for textile, leather, engineering, sports, footwear and all other leading sectors to bring Pakistan Customs Tariff (PCT) headings in line with the new HS-Code 2007.
The Board on Tuesday issued SRO 610 (textile sector), SRO 611 (leather and sports goods), SRO 612 (engineering/metal and allied products), and SRO 613 (miscellaneous products like packing material, edible products, plastic items). The previous notification has been superseded by issuance of new notifications.
A comparison of the new notification with the old SROs shows that there is no change in the duty drawback rates on export of products by different sectors. However, many new PCT headings have been incorporated in the notifications in view of new Harmonised Commodity Description and Coding System (HS Code) 2007. More than 1300 customs tariff lines have been changed on adoption of HS Code 2007.
