The Ministry of Health is working to revise the check-list for registration of drugs and make the system responsive to the needs of the industry.
Secretary Health, Khushnood Akhtar Lashari said this while talking to a delegation of Pharma Bureau who met him on Tuesday and discussed issues related to further improvement in registration of drugs.
The secretary said the ministry's drugs registration board focuses on efficiency, safety and quality of drugs in the registration process. He asked the Pharma Bureau to establish a state-of-the-art bio-equivalence and research laboratory in Pakistan.
The secretary while talking to visiting mission of World Health Organisation (WHO) said the ministry is striving to improve the quality of the health delivery system throughout the country.
The delegation is on a visit to Pakistan to check quality management at Pakistan Institute of Medical Sciences (PIMS) Islamabad and Jinnah Post-Graduate Medical Institute Karachi.
