Ministry of Food, Agriculture and Livestock (Minfal) has decided to start a Crop Maximisation-II project from July 1 with a view to facilitate the poor farmers, sources told Business Recorder.
They said the project costing Rs 13.8 million would be launched in 1,000 selected villages of the country. "Small farmers having less than 20 acres of land will be provided loans by Minfal through a bank," they added. "We have short-listed some banks in this regard, but have not finalised any bank until now. The farmers will pay the money back to the banks after sending their crops to the market," the sources said.
