Performance of census staff admired

LAHORE: The officials working for census have done well so far and it is duty of every citizen to play active role for its success.

President Jamiat Ulema-e-Pakistan Pir Ijaz Hashmi said this while speaking at a meeting here on Sunday.

He also praised the steps announced by Census Commissioner Asif Bajwa in his recent media briefing.

He said people and political parties of the country had welcomed the census. He added that the census was a national duty and every segment of society should take part in it.

He said the census was not just for constituencies of parliament but issues of development planning, national security and political affairs were dependent on it.
