Gasoline, fuel oil exports down: Russia

Published Updated

gaspumpdropMOSCOW: Russia's exports of gasoline and fuel oil fell in September month on month on lower refinery runs at domestic oil plants caused by seasonal maintenance, data provided by the Energy Ministry showed.

At the same time, gas-oil exports rose in September versus August as Russia banned domestic supplies of diesel oil with sulphur content over 500 pips since September 16, forcing producers to boost exports.

Russian gas-oil exports in September rose by 4.1 percent month on month to 92,946 tonnes per day, while local supplies were down by 12.7 percent to 87,701 tonnes per day.

Gas-oil exports were down by 3.9 percent compared to September 2010.

Russian refinery runs in September fell by 7.1 percent on a daily basis from August, official data showed.

Russia exported 4,335 tonnes per day of gasoline in September, down by 22.3 percent from August, while domestic shipments of gasoline were down by 6.3 percent to 94,393 tonnes per day.

In year-on-year terms, domestic supplies of gasoline were up by 1.7 percent, while exports were down 30.9 percent.

Fuel oil exports in September fell by 11.7 percent and totalled 138,586 tonnes per day compared with 156,910 tonnes per day in August, while domestic shipments stood at 26,360 tonnes per day, up 25.0 percent month-on-month.

In year-on-year terms, domestic supplies and exports were down by 6.3 and 7.0 percent.
