imageISLAMABAD: PML-N leader Pir Sabir Shah has said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is making significant efforts to complete projects, related to China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Talking to Radio Pakistan Nukta Nazar programme, he said the present government has worked on CPEC with commitment and steadiness. Despite interference by foreign elements, "CPEC is moving forward", he added.

CPEC Expert Maj. Gen. Retd. Zahir Shah said that Turkey and Pakistan have cordial relation since decades and CPEC would not only help Pakistan and China but also ensure regional connectivity.

He said many countries have tilt towards CPEC and Turkey, Afghanistan and Iran can also benefit from this gigantic project which is a project of peace and development.

Economic Expert Shahid Hassan Siddique said that Turkey and Pakistan have brotherly relation at governmental and public level and have supported each other in difficult times. Turkey is 18th largest country in terms of population and 4th major economy. "Its joining of CPEC will have tremendous impacts on Pakistan's economy so we should welcome Turkish investment in Pakistan as it will bring economic turnaround in Pakistan," he added.

Economic Expert Dr. Manzoor Khan Afridi said that many countries are keen to join CPEC. Turkey is situated at the confluence of Europe and Asia. It may give Pakistan access to European markets and especially to Balkan states.

He said Turkish and American companies are keen to invest in Pakistan. Turkey may invest in transportation projects in Pakistan. Its companies may invest in road, railways and pipeline projects under CPEC.
