The Lahore High Court Bar Association (LHCBA) President Ehsan Bohn has asked political leaders, trade unions and people of other sections of society to rise against the present rulers and play their national duty to oust them from power.
He also asked the traders and transporters to observe shutter down and wheel jam strike on March 21.
While addressing media men here on Monday, Bohn said that bar has decided to observe strike on March 21 and added that they would hold a protest meeting and took out procession against the suspension of Chief Justice of Pakistan Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry and police torture on lawyers and journalists.
He appreciated the judges who resigned from their offices and added that their struggle would gain momentum due to resignation of Lahore High Court Judge, Jawad S Khawaja and other members of the judiciary.
He however, announced not to join enquiry in a tribunal constituted by LHC Chief Justice and added that there was no need to hold enquiry in the matter after the statement of DPO Lahore that they had entered in the court premises under the direction of CCPO.
He demanded action against the police officials responsible to disgrace Lahore High Court and bar by shelling on the bar members, who were present in the bar and High Court premises. He also asked Supreme Court of Pakistan to take suo moto action against the responsible police officials and initiate contempt of court proceedings against them.
He said that bar members would continue their struggle in a disciplined and peaceful manner. He said representatives of the bar would not allow anybody to mislead the bar members. He said that the political leaders might come to bar to express their solidarity with the bar members but they should rise their voice at their own platform as well.
