Hrithik Roshan won million of hearts with his role as a visually impaired person in his latest film Kaabil. Inspired from his movie, the Bollywood actor has pledged to donate his eyes on the occasion of his 43rd birthday on January 10.
Kaabil actor pledged his eyes with family ophthalmologist Dr S Natarajan of Aditya Jyot Eye Hospital. Natarajan has been treating Hrithik's grandfather for years.
Talking about it, Dr S. Natarajan stated, When I saw the trailer of Kaabil, I called Rakesh Roshan (producer) and asked if Hrithik would pledge his eyes. I was pleasantly surprised when he told me that his son was already planning to do so. When I spoke to Hrithik, he told me that he would like to celebrate his birthday by pledging his eyes, Indian media reported.
He further added, Though he pledged his eyes on his birthday, he requested us to keep it under wraps. We would now like to use this news to motivate others to follow his example.
Late veteran actor Om Puri, South superstar Rajinikanth (in 1986) and actress Aishwarya Rai had also done the same. However, Om Puri eyes couldnt be retrieved due to his sudden demise.
