ISLAMABAD: On the direction of Prime Minister Syed Yusuf Raza Gilani, a meeting of the Ministries of Petroleum, Finance and Water and Power was held here Thursday to review the steps taken for minimizing load shedding in the country.
The Ministry of Finance has been directed by the Prime Minister to provide timely funds to the Ministry of Water and Power for onward payments to the oil companies so that the power generation could be continued without any interruption.
Whereas the Ministry of Petroleum has been directed by the Prime Minister to ensure uninterrupted gas supply to the domestic and commercial users in its gas load management.
The Energy Committee has also been directed by the Prime Minister to provide gas to the power plants on priority so that load shedding could be curtailed in the wake of reduced hydel generation in the winter season.
