ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan held a press conference on Tuesday to brief the media over additional documents submitted by the party as fresh evidence in the Supreme Court today.
He said the Maryam Nawaz Sharif is the actual owner of the Mayfair Flats. Maryam was beneficiary for two companies, and those companies owned the offshore companies.
Khan said that he had heard in the Supreme Court that Maryam Nawaz received a car worth Rs20 million as a gift. He added that everyone knows that the letter from Qatar was fake. We will prove that PM Nawaz lied at the parliament and courts, said Khan and added, Sharif family is being run on presents and gifts.
Imran Khan said that money-laundering cash was sent outside the country which was later brought back to Pakistan.
It is evident from the Qatari Prince letter that the property belongs to Hussain Nawaz, said the PTI chairman and continued that We will prove that no trust was ever made.
PTIs General Secretary Jehangir Tareen also gave a presentation over the documents saying that they had dug out a trail of emails which uncover lies of the government. He said that some of the emails were in Spanish and they translated it. "In the entire story Maryam Nawaz appears to be the owner [of offshore companies]," he said.
The Supreme Court of Pakistan will hear the Panama Leaks case on January 4.The new Panamagate bench includes Justice Azmat Saeed, Justice Ijaz Afzal, Justice Gulzar Ahmed and Justice Ijaz-ul-Hasan.
