The International Cricket Council on Thursday announced the ICCs Test and One Day International (ODI) teams of the year, and unfortunately no Pakistani cricketer was deemed fit enough by the crickets governing body in both formats to make it to the list.
Englands Test skipper Alastair Cook has been named as captain of the ICC Test Team of the Year for the third time. The team is comprised of four Englishmen, three Australians, and a player each from New Zealand, India, Sri Lanka and South Africa.
Test Team: David Warner (Australia), Alastair Cook (England) (captain), Kane Williamson (New Zealand), Joe Root (England), Adam Voges (Australia), Jonny Bairstow (England) (wicketkeeper), Ben Stokes (England), R. Ashwin (India), Rangana Herath (Sri Lanka), Mitchell Starc (Australia), Dale Steyn (South Africa), Steve Smith (Australia).
No Pakistani cricketer was able to make into the coveted team, despite the fact that skipper Misbah ul Haq was awarded the ICC Spirit of the Cricket Award for his leadership, and leggie Yasir Shah who rewrote history books, after becoming the second fastest to grab 100 wickets this year.

Cricketing fans around the world are also criticizing the exclusion of Virat Kohli, who has taken his side to the top of ICC Test rankings beating England 4-0 in the home series juts days ago. Meanwhile, Alastair Cook is also facing severe criticism on social media for being named captain of the esteemed side despite losing the India series and drawing the home series against spirited Pakistanis under Misbah.
