Punjab Chief Minister, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi inaugurated Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan auditorium at Faisalabad Arts Council.
Provincial Minister for Culture and Youth Affairs, Shaukat Ali Bhatti, Provincial Minister for Communication and Works, Chaudhry Zaheer-ud-Din, Secretary Information, Culture and Youth Affairs, Taimur Azmat Osman as well as senior officers of Arts Council, works department and other departments were present on the occasion.
The chief minister was informed in a briefing that Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan auditorium has been constructed at a cost of Rs 47.926 million and besides revolving stage hall, library, music classes, art gallery, dance academy as well as modern equipment has been installed in the auditorium.
It was further informed that the revolving hall has a seating capacity for 500 spectators. He also inspected art gallery and saw masterpieces of paintings and calligraphy. He said that construction of Ustad Nusrat Fateh Ali Khan auditorium in Faisalabad Art Council will provide opportunities to the artists from all over the country to display their creative abilities as well as help introduce local artists at international level. He further said that this auditorium will provide recreational facilities to the citizens. The chief minister also announced annual grant of Rs 5 million for Faisalabad Art Council on permanent basis.
Earlier, the chief minister inaugurated Madina Teaching Hospital Faisalabad and also inspected its various sections. He appreciated the standard of sanitation as well as free treatment facilities being extended to the patients and said that other affluent persons should also follow the example set by the administration of Madina Teaching Hospital as service to humanity is also a form of worship.
Head of Madina Teaching Hospital, Mian Muhammad Hanif informed the chief minister that besides facilities of treatment and surgery, free medicines are also provided to the patients. He said that 469,408 patients have been treated for various diseases in the hospital from 2001 to 2005. Federal Minister for Textile Industry, Chaudhry Mushtaq Ali Cheema, Provincial Minister for C&W, Chaudhry Zaheer-ur-Din Khan, City District Nazim, Zahid Tausif and officers of district administration were also present on the occasion.
