KARACHI: Three ships Maipo, SC Beihai and Genuine Hercules Carrying Containers, 17500 Tonnes palm oil and 21,937 tonnes phosphoric acid were arranged berthing at Qasim International Container Terminal, Liquid Cargo Terminal and Engro Vopak terminal respectively on Thursday.
Meanwhile three more ships CMA CGM Tosca, Al-Soor-II and Liberty- N with containers, diesel oil and LPG also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.
Berth occupancy was observed at the port at 33% on Thursday where a total of five ships namely Maipo, Northern Jamborne, Imari, SC Beihai and Genuine Hercules are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, project cargo palm oil and chemicals respectively during last 24 hours.
Cargo throughput during last 24 hours stood at 53,110 tonnes, comprising 40,570 tonnes import cargo and 12,540 tonnes export cargo inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 1,520m containers TEUs) 860 imports TUEs & 660 TUEs exports) was handled at t he port>
Containers ships Maipo sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while another ships Northern Jamborne is expected to sail on same day afternoon.
Three ships CMA CGM Tosca, Maersk Innoshima, Serne Suasannah and Belle Masuka scheduled to load/offload containers, rice and fertilizer are expected to take berths at Container Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal and Grain & Fertilizer Terminal respectively on Friday. While another containers ship Safmarine Ngami is due to arrive at Port Qasim on Saturday.
