imageThe Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) on Thursday decided to include 17-year-old Muhammad Asghar in the squad for the upcoming three-Test series against Australia amidst Yasir Shahs back injury.

As per media reports, the board has called Asghar to the squad as a backup for leg spinner Yasir Shah against the Aussies.

Asghar, came into prominence during the first edition of Pakistan Super League (PSL), where he represented Peshawar Zalmi team. Asghar was impressive with a tally of 11 wickets at an average of 18.45 during PSLs inaugural edition which has brought him in contention for selection in the national team.

Yasir sustained a back injury on Tuesday during a training session in Cairns, which ruled him out of Pakistans on-going warm-up match against Cricket Australia XI. He was initially advised two days rest by the doctors.

Pakistan is scheduled to play its first Test against Australia from December 15 at the Gabba Stadium in Brisbane.
