BANGKOK: Thailand's benchmark stock index was down 2.46 percent at 947.71 at 0406 GMT on Tuesday in turnover of 7.7 billion baht ($252 million).
Dealers said the selling was in line with weak sentiment in Asia after Germany's finance minister cautioned against hopes for a quick fix to Europe's debt problem.
MSCI's broadest index of Asia Pacific shares outside Japan was down 2.6 percent by 0407 GMT.

TIPCO ASPHALT PCL NEAR 1-WEEK HIGH:
The manufacturer of asphalt products gained as much as 3.3 percent to 54.5 baht, the higest since Oct. 12, adding to Monday's 1.9 percent rise as road rebuilding after flooding should boost demand for asphalt, brokers said.
Thanachart Securities pegged resistance for the stock at 60 and 62 baht, it said in a research note.
At 0407 GMT, Tipco shares were up 1.9 percent at 53.75 baht.
SRI TRANG AGRO-INDUSTRY PCL DOWN:
The rubber producer and exporter dropped 5.6 percent to 18.5 baht after it reported to the exchange there had been a fire at its ribbed smoked sheet (RSS) factory in the eastern province of Chanthaburi, representing 0.85 percent of its capacity.
The fire had been brought under control and the company was insured in full for the damage, its statement said.
PTT Pcl , the biggest energy firm and the largest listed firm by market value, fell 2.7 percent to 292 baht, erasing Monday's 2.7 percent surge to 300 baht, around three-week highs.
Cement maker Siam Cement Pcl slid 1.6 percent to 301 baht while food firm Charoen Pokphand Foods Pcl eased 2.5 percent to 29 baht.
Siam Cement and Charoen Pokphand shares gained on Monday amid expectations of rising demand for cement and food after flooding.
