Railway workers end strike after assurance

Published Updated

railwayKARACHI: Railways workers have ended their strike on the assurance of the local management on Monday that their salaries will be paid within next three days.

The alliance of railway workers 'Rail Workers Itehad' held detailed meeting with the local administration at the City Station headed by alliance chairman Haroot Khan.

Earlier, the workers union shut the engine sheds disrupting the departure of trains to up country since Monday morning.

The affected trains included Allama Iqbal Express, Karakoram and Tezgaam.

"The sheds have been opened and drivers have started the engines for onward journey," said a spokesman of the Itehad.
