LAHORE: Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited (ZTBL) President/CEO Syed Talat Mehmood inaugurated the bank's new branch at Bhadian Kallan under Lahore Zone on Tuesday.
Addressing the inaugural ceremony, he said the ZTBL was working hard to complete its mission of providing Agriculture Credit facility to farmers at their door step. Since Bhadian Kallan was a huge agricultural area, he added, ZTBL opened up new branch there to facilitate farmers nearest to their farms.
Syed Talat mentioned that ZTBL had disbursed agricultural loans of Rs 130 billion last year, and it was also providing easy transaction of money from abroad with collaboration of Western Union and other reputable companies. The bank is also providing facilities of utility bills collections, bank draft, pay orders and call deposits in all its branches in Pakistan, besides introducing nine more agri schemes for farmers within past two and half years, he maintained.
Keeping well in view the vision of Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, he said, the bank had started several easy loan schemes under the slogan- Kissan Khushhall Pakistan Khushhall- for fruit and vegetable, dehydration, bio gas units, solar energy, agri, financing, tobacco farming, live stock and milk chilling schemes.
At the end, the ZTBL President/CEO Syed Talat Mehmood assured the farmers community of extending full support to achieve target of self sufficiency in agriculture sector.
The ceremony was attended by a large number of farmers and notables of the area.
