PPP MPAs advised to facilitate registration of voters

pir-mazhar-ul-haqKARACHI: Senior Minister of Sindh, Pir Mazhar ul Haq has advised the PPP members of the provincial assembly to facilitate registration of voters in their respective constituencies.

Chairing a meeting of the parliamentary members at the Chief Minister House, he also advised them to realize their responsibility in facilitating eligible voters, in their respective constituencies, yet to get their NID cards.

" We must get registered all eligible voters in the fresh lists and also assist them get their NID cards so that they are not denied of their constitutional right," said Pir Mazhar ul Haq.

The senior minister said that people had faced tremendous loss during recent torrential rains and the worst hit were the inhabitants of Badin, Shaheed Benazirabad, Sanghar, Tharparkar, Umerkot, Tando Mohamamd Khan, Tando Allahyar and Mirpur Khas.

He said President Asif Ali Zardari, Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani and Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah have got themselves extensively involved in arranging proper relief for the people of rain hit areas.

Pir Mazhar ul Haq said each and every PPP parliamentarian and workers have to contribute towards rehabilitation of the affected people.

Sindh education department has entered into an agreement with USAID and 250 schools will be constructed in the area for which the donor will not only provide the required furniture but also help in training of the teachers.

The education minister said that Unicef has also assured to assist in setting up 4000 schools cum training centers in the province.

Sindh government will provide teachers and books for these schools, he said.
