Alternative energy plan to be introduced soon: Naveed Qamar
ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Water and Power Syed Naveed Qamar on Friday said the government has decided to introduce alternative energy plan soon with an aim to encourage investment in the country.
He said draft of alternative energy plans has been sent to Council of Common Interest (CCI) for its approval.
This was disclosed at 21st meeting of Alternative Energy Board here headed by the Federal Minister for Water and Power.
The Board was also informed that alternative energy policy 2011 was prepared with the consultation of provincial governments and all stake-holder and suggested the advantages for investors.
The minister said present government is focusing on the alternative energy sources to overcome the prevailing energy crisis and provision of electricity at low tariff for public.
The minister also directed the ministry to remove all hurdles from pending issues and take steps to restore confidence of investors.
