ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Police sub inspector was killed while another constable was injured in firing by some assailants on police mobile van in sector I-10 here on Friday.
A police spokesman said that a woman was also injured in the firing as police team approached the scene to solve a dispute of the injured woman.
He said some assailants opened fire on police van and woman resulting in death of sub inspector Riaz Nadeem and bullet injuries to constable Ashraf.
The injured police person and woman were shifted to PIMS hospital where their treatment was underway.
IGP Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Muhammabad Yousuf Malik reached the crime scene and told that the perpetrators of the act will be arrested soon.
They also visited the injured at PIMS and inquired after them. They asked the doctors to provide every possible treatment to the injured persons.
