rehman-malikISLAMABAD: Minister for Interior Rehman Malik said Thursday diplomatic activities were being regulated as part of efforts to ensure peace in the federal capital.

Referring to media reports regarding building a bunker by the US embassy in the federal capital, the minister told media persons outside the Parliament, no one would be allowed to build bunker.

He said as a result of strict security measures in the federal capital, some major terrorists' plots had been foiled including recovering large ammunition at Chatta Bakhtawar.

He said the terrorists wanted to target certain specific places in the Red zone and headquarters of an elite agency, adding the rehearsal spots of these terrorist were also located.

According to some reports, the minister said, the ANP leaders were facing threats in Karachi as some elements did not want political parties to work together for peace.

However, he added, he had talked to police officials of Karachi, directing to ensure strict security measures for the security of ANP leaders.

Referring to the PML's(N) protests, the minister said such activities were beauty in a democratic process but these should be peaceful, he added.

He said the PML(N) should wait till elections to be held in time and go to masses that time for wining their support.

Replying to a question, he said prayers leaders in mosques of the federal capital were government servants and they would be provided security, if needed.

Meanwhile, Senior Minister for Defence Production Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said it was a good omen that all major political parties unanimously adopted a resolution in the APC which would go a long way in facing the challenges.
