Argentine soy prices move higher with Chicago

BUENOS AIRES: Argentina closing soy prices and trends on Wednesday:

* Soy prices in Rosario ended at between 1,240 pesos and 1,280 pesos per tonne ($283-$292) compared with 1,265 pesos in the previous session, supported by gains in the Chicago Board of Trade (CBOT).

* Trade volume rose slightly to 3,500 tonnes, from the 2,500 tonnes seen on Tuesday.

* Soybean futures on the CBOT closed higher, marking the third straight daily rise, after the US Department of Agriculture cut its forecasts of US 2011/12 soy yield and ending stocks, traders said.

* In Rosario, soybeans for May 2012 delivery, priced in US dollars, closed steady at $300 per tonne.
