Prices of vegetables surged

BADIN: The prices of vegetable have surged in Badin in the wake of rain and flood caused devastation of agriculture in Sindh.

On Wednesday, tomatoes were being sold at a price of up to Rs 80 per kilogram.

Likewise, different vegetables like potato, onion, chilies, etc. whose rates varied between Rs 20 to Rs30 kilogram before the rains are now sold for between Rs80 to Rs 120.

The monsoon rains and subsequent floods destroyed 325,000 acres crops of cotton, rice, sugarcane and chilies, besides others, in Badin.
