A six-day festival "Mount Fuji-ta Mai-Kolachi" will be organised from January 14 to 19 at Danish Gah under the auspices of Pakistan Japan Cultural Association (PJCA). This was stated in a briefing on Friday by Fatima Surriya Bajia, President of PJCA while talking to journalists at Karachi Press Club. Bajia said that Governor Sindh will open the festival on 14th and it will be publicly opened from 15th to 19th January.
She said that craftsmen from Sindh and Balochistan as well as from Japan would participate in the festival. The Sindh Small Industries were supporting the festival. "The only purpose of the festival is to reintroduce the lost and historic art, which has been buried or ruined."
The Japanese craftsmen would not only introduce their ceramics work but also train the Pakistani craftsmen, Bajia said.
The craftsmanship in festival would be on mud, wooden, Kashi Kari, leather, carpets, hand making work with facility of spot buying and selling.
The festival will be only for families having entry fee Rs 20 per person. A food street will also be established on the occasion with availability of Japanese and Pakistani foods. It will start from 10.00 am to 10.00 pm at Danish Gah, Clifton.
