LONDON: Europe's main stock markets rose at the open on Friday, despite earlier losses in Asia and overnight on Wall Street.
London's benchmark FTSE 100 index climbed nearly 0.5 percent to 6,165.61 points compared with Thursday's close.
In the eurozone, Frankfurt's DAX 30 index advanced about 0.5 percent to 9,576.40 points and the Paris CAC 40 won 0.3 percent to 4,259.10.
