ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources, Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that TAPI gas project would substantially help to meet the energy need of the country.
Talking in Radio Pakistan' current affairs' programme, he said Turkmenistan Government has 85 percent share in the project while Pakistan and India have five percent share.
The first supply of gas from the project to Pakistan would start in 2019 and surplus gas would be available for industry, he said and added, an independent company would ensure gas supply to Afghanistan, Pakistan and India.
TAPI project gas would fulfil futuristic demand of the country, he maintained.
Chairman Board of Investment, Dr. Miftah Ismail expressing his views said present government was determined to eliminate load-shedding from the country till 2018.
The government, he said was making all out efforts in this regard.
PML N leader, Barrister Daniyal Chaudhry said Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was himself monitoring the development on underway power projects and has directed the concerned authorities to ensure the timely completion of all the projects under China Pakistan Economic Corridor.
