PTEA elects chairman
FAISALABAD: Rana Arif Tauseef elected Chairman of Pakistan Textile Exporters Association (PTEA) while Shahzad Sidddique as vice-chairman for the term of 2011-12.
Rana Arif Tauseef is a seasoned industrialist and heads a group of most modern textile mills.
He is also the brother of Rana Zahid Tauseef, former District Nazim Faisalabad and Rana Asif Tauseef, Minister of State for Privatization.
Rana Arif Tauseef is serving on boards of many charitable, health and educational institutions, contributing to society. He had earlier served PTEA as chairman for the year 2005-06. He also served the association in various capacities.
Speaking briefly at a meeting, newly elected Vice Chairman Shahzad Siddique said that presently textile industry is facing many challenges in almost all segments particularly high-utility cost, trade deficit, additional levies as well as law and order situation emerging out of the war against terror and other obstacle directly affecting the cost of running-business, which is hampered exports of our country.
He invited the members to come forward and contribute to chalk-out recommendations to the government for arresting the economic recession in addition to addressing issues being faced by the textile industry.
