PESHAWAR: A bomb explosion during funeral prayers held for a local elder killed at least two people and wounded 13 others in lower Dir on Thursday, police said.
The incident took place in the district of Lower Dir, 100 kilometres northwest of the Swat valley.
"At least two people were killed and 13 others wounded in the bomb explosion that rocked funeral prayers of a local elder in Jandol town of Lower Dir," senior police official Akhtar Hayat Gandapur told AFP.
"We are trying to ascertain whether it was a timed device or suicide attack."
Another senior police official Salim Khan Marwat confirmed the incident and said it was under investigation.
