imageISLAMABAD: The marketing companies reduced here Wednesday prices of Liquified Petroleum Gas (LPG) by Rs. 15 per kilogram following decline in its price in international market.

As a result, prices of domestic cylinder were decreased by Rs. 175 and commercial cylinder by Rs 700, Chairman LPG Distributors Association Muhammad Irfan Khokhar told APP.

He informed the local market witnessed dip in LPG prices after reduction of $ 70 per ton from $370 to $300 price per metric ton in international market.

He said the new prices would be effective from February 3, throughout the country.

Giving details, he said the prices had been reduced to Rs. 85 per kg with domestic cylinder at Rs. 970 in Lahore, Kasur, Gujranwala, Gujrat, Faisalabad, Jhelum, Sahiwal Sialkot and Peshwar.

The prices of domestic cylinder in Rahim Yar Khan, Sadiqabad, Hyderabad, Attock, Mirpur and AJK have been slashed to Rs. 1150 with one kilogram to Rs. 100.

In Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Abbotabad, Muzaffarabad, FATA, Kotli, Mirpur Khas, Umarkot and Nawabashah, the one kilogram LPG would be sold at Rs. 110 and the domestic cylinder will be available at Rs. 1300.

The price of domestic cylinder at Gilgit Baltistan, Murree and Balakot would be Rs. 1510 with one kilogram at Rs. 130.

He said the price of domestic cylinder in Karachi has been reduced to Rs. 910 with one kilogram Rs. 80 kg.

He said the representatives of the association recently held a meeting with Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to discuss issues pertaining to ensuring stability in price to maintain price at affordable level for the masses.

He said the issue pertaining to the substandard cylinder were also discussed and demanded a crackdown to put an end to the lethal practice.
