china stock marketSHANGHAI: Chinese shares opened down 1.2 percent Tuesday, tracking the plunge on the Hong Kong market the previous day on concerns over the European debt crisis, dealers said.

The Shanghai Composite Index, which covers both A and B shares, was down 30.02 points to 2,467.73.
