ANKARA: Turkish Economy Minister Zafer Caglayan said on Monday he expected the economy to grow 7-8 percent in the year as a whole after data showed gross domestic product expanded a greater-than-expected 8.8 percent in the second quarter.
He also said in a written statement that the current account deficit, which was slightly less than expected in July, would narrow in the latter part of the year and that the government was working on medium- and long-term solutions to the deficit.
