 PALLEKELE: Sri Lanka, trailing by 237 runs from the first innings, were 164-2 in their second knock at tea on the fourth day of the second cricket Test in Pallekele on Sunday.

Kumar Sangakkara was unbeaten on 35 and Mahela Jayawardene was on 13 with Sri Lanka only 73 runs behind with eight wickets in hand.

Australia, hoping to clinch the three-match series after winning the first Test in Galle by 125 runs, declared their first innings at their overnight score of 411-7.
