FAISALABAD: Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) Tuesday appealed the general public to avoid from using gas heaters and generators during the winter season.
Talking to mediamen here, a spokesman of the SNGPL said that the demand of gas for domestic and industrial consumption increases to manifolds during winters whereas the gas quota from the main gas reservoirs is reduced due to low gas pressure owing to cold.
The SNGPL has evolved a load management plan so that all the consumers especially domestic and commercial consumers would be supplied gas uninterruptedly.
However, some of the consumers use gas heaters to warm rooms, gas generators to general electricity during load shedding hours and gas geyser to boil water for bath during winter.
However, this practice is creating problems for SNGPL as well as other consumers because gas heaters, generators and geysers swallowed the gas hurriedly and the other consumers face problems to prepare food for want of gas.
Therefore, the people should avoid from using gas heaters, generators and geysers during winter especially from 6 am to 8 am and from 6 pm to 8 pm so that all consumers could avail from uninterrupted gas supply for their essential necessities, he added.
